State support to religious and secular groups

This theme encompasses State support to religious and secular groups, in light of the legitimacy and the relevance of such support in a present-day context. The research aims here at assessing the reasons that justify - or not - the public funding that is in place today. The State position (what is funded and how?) and the religious communities’ point of view (what are their priorities?) will be taken into account.

The research will consider several issues including: training and remuneration of the religious leaders, media and the religious heritage funding in light of its cultural/religious dimension.
